September 7, 2017

I woke up early to run another five miles!  I was tired and I'm still trying to get over this cold.  It didn't feel all that fun.  But I'm proving to myself every day that I can do hard things.  It ended up being a decent run, but my IT band on my left knee is really hurting.  It has me all sorts of worried for marathon day!! Eek!

It's been the loveliest of days.  I had a very empty schedule!!  We cleaned house; I took a shower; we ran a few errands; we met Greg for sandwiches in the car.  After dropping Owen off for kindergarten, I got lots of things done around the house.  Mostly because I finally downloaded the Audible app and so now I can listen to books.  Reading is my favorite pastime, and it's pretty much gone out the window lately.  I know I'm really busy when I can't even find the time or energy to read!!  So with a book going in my ear, I did laundry, organized a closet, worked on PTA, and generally just got a lot of stuff done!

When the boys came home from school, I took them all out swimming.  We played and had a great time.  As I got out, I lit the grill for some hamburgers for dinner.  We ate in a very relaxed fashion.  We sat around as a family working on homework while the little ones painted and played.  Julia worked on her trombone homework.  She was so cute.  Bedtime went so smoothly and everyone was in bed at a very reasonable time.

Greg and I laid in bed talking and marveling about Hurricane Irma heading straight for Florida, the fires burning Northern Utah and the Northwest, and other interesting news.  Eventually we fell asleep.  The best part?  My schedule tomorrow looks about the same.  Slow and easy!  I think I'm going to make it.

I'm gearing up for 18 miles on Saturday.  Marathon Day will be a miracle for Stalee and me.  I can't wait.  :)
