Today I had a Community Council Meeting at Sunrise Ridge Intermediate School. To my complete and utter surprise, they decided to vote for a new Chairman. They asked if I wanted to do it again, and I said I would but that I was the PTA President at the middle school, so if someone else would be willing, then I'd be happy about that. And someone else was willing!! Not that this position has been hard. It's been the easiest thing ever. But I do feel relieved that I'm not the chairman anymore.
It was a great meeting. Sunrise Ridge is bursting at the seams, and the whole meeting was about trying to deal with so much overcrowding. The administration is amazing to think about and worry about these kids on a daily basis. I'm super impressed. I brought some toys and Owen and Lance played happily on the floor for the whole hour and a half. It was amazing.
Owen's kindergarten has been doing a color of the day. Today was black. And this is the day Owen chose to bring the treat. So we dressed him head to toe in black with his batman shirt and black shorts (he was SO excited) and sent Oreos for the whole class. He is really loving Kindergarten. I'm so happy for him.
This evening I had a parent teacher conference with Austin's teacher and she was so nice about Austin. She said she just loved him and thought he was so smart and so great. I'm super hopeful that this will be a great year for Austin.
My day started with a difficult six-mile run around the Summit loop. So I was really ready for bed when the time came. But it's been a great day and I'm feeling like things are settling into a nice routine. My marathon training is wiping me out, but that will end in another month!! I'll be really happy to make it through that day. I hope with all of my heart that it is as fun as last time. :)
