June 28, 2017

Some of us went on a big long hike this morning.  We trekked up the side of the mountain and back down again.  I climbed for a while next to J.B. and Sunee.  We talked and talked.  I tripped and stumbled!  Ha! But it was a lovely morning.  And a great workout!

Then we just played and swam and spent a lovely afternoon.  When it was time for dinner, I took our stuff and and my kids and headed down to the kids' mining area.  It was shady and beautiful.  They have bbq grills next to this cute little mining area where the kids can wash some dirt full of treasures. While I cooked our hamburgers and enjoyed the weather, the kids played around.  I called Mom and Dad and they came out and joined us for dinner.  The Park City weather made me feel a little frustrated about St. George.  I love the water sports, the swimming, the sunshine...but July in St. George is a little tough to take sometimes.  I just tried to sit back and enjoy it while we could.  It was so lovely!!  I hope I always remember these lovely times.

This has been the best week so far.  I forgot to mention, but the other night, we all headed into Mom and Dad's room and Dad presented the neatest slideshow of his trip to England, Wales, and Scotland. It was so interesting and educational!  I learned so much.  But it mostly reinforced my knowledge that my dad is super smart.  I can't believe all of the history he retains in his brain.  And he sprinkled it all with interesting facts and humor.  It was a great evening.
