July 1, 2017

I just couldn't face getting up early to run.  But in no way shape or form was I going to repeat last week running in over 90 degree weather.  So, I trudged up to my old friend the treadmill.  First, I got on the bike and rode for 18 miles.  It took nearly an hour.  Then I took my wobbly legs onto the treadmill and kicked out my fastest five miles in a LONG while.  I really pushed it.  I felt really great.  And I got to try out my new shoes.  I think they are going to be just fine.
5 Miles--under 47 minutes
I spent two hours upstairs while my awesome husband made pancakes for the kids.

I'm so happy that I'm doing this!!

Greg also went on a long walk outside.  We are really focused on keeping the All-American Slim Down on the right track.  Greg has worked so hard while we've been gone.  I'm super proud of him.  And happy for him.

We had a relaxing day with the kids.  We swam and played and Greg and I went to the grocery store just before bedtime.  We told the kids that if they had everything cleaned up and they were all showered when we got home, we'd bring them some ice cream.  Of course, that did the trick and we all enjoyed some ice cream and a movie together.

As we crawled into bed, I told Greg that I am loving the summer so much that I could almost cry.  When I think about the fall, and all of the different school schedules and the intensity of our life and sports and activities, I feel sick.  This feels like heaven in comparison.

This summer feels golden.  And I hope it lasts a really long time.
