Last night at the lake, a seam popped on one of the seat cushions in our boat. We left the boat hooked up to the Escalade last night so that I could try to take it in to someone. I don't know why, but it makes me super nervous to drive the boat around! But I took a deep breath and drove it over to an auto upholstery shop. It felt just like I was walking onto the set of this TV show we watch called, "Fast 'N Loud". On the show, they restore really old cars into these awesome show pieces or hot rods. Anyway, it felt a little like that. The guys were busy restoring old things when I walked in. One guy came out and talked things over with me and asked me to bring the boat back on Tuesday morning.
I had parked with plenty of space, but now I had to back out of the parking lot to get back onto the street. The shop was clear in the back of a warehouse in an industrial area, so I couldn't exactly just park on the street. I had Owen with me. Again, I took a deep breath and got started. I was SO proud of myself. :) (I easily amaze myself sometimes!). I backed up into a beautiful, but slow, three-point-turn and got headed on my way. It was a happy moment. I even stopped and filled up with gas at Maverick. I saw a friend who said, "Look at you! Driving that big boat!" I told her that I was actually quite scared. But still, I was proud of myself. :)
Greg and I went on a date tonight. We had so much fun. We had a lovely dinner at Red Lobster and then shopped around, picking up a few supplies for Lake Powell.
Sunee agreed to meet me in the morning for part of my run. I think I am going to do ten or eleven miles. So I will run five miles and then meet up with Sunee. She is just getting started at running, and she isn't quite up to speed, so it'll be good for her to catch me when I'm already tired. Greg was so cute...when I told him that I need to run five miles to meet Sunee, we were almost home. "I'll clock it," he offered. As soon as we got to our house, he set the odometer and kept driving. He helped me figure out a perfect course. I'm so thankful for his support.
It's been another great day!
