Suzette and Maddy and Kate Jacobsen came to town today. I was standing next to the pool, threatening Owen with his life, when they came up behind me. It was a great moment in my motherhood. Ha! I wasn't in my swimsuit, or else I would have jumped in and grabbed Owen myself. But he was being so naughty, and the boys were ready to drown each other, and I was hot and furious. I was screaming for Miles to drag Owen over to me. But Miles's attempts were unsuccessful. I finally charged into the water and grabbed him by the neck and shoulders. All day long Owen has been like a supercharged piece of dynamite, causing problems where ever he can, ready to explode at any minute. It's times like these that make me question my sanity, my skills, and my purpose in life!! I know that Owen has gotten so much better. His behavior is mostly excellent. But he still has this crazy streak, and it's really hard to tame.
Somehow, we all calmed down. And we laughed and visited until Suzette and Maddy left for a little pre-mission shopping for Maddy. Kate stayed and hung out with us. We stayed up way too late, but it's been really fun to have them all here.
