Greg and I got up early to load the coolers and the last bit of food into the car. Then we woke the kids and climbed into the Escalade.  Lance woke up a little bit, but he fell back asleep on my bed.  Sunee showed up and we hugged her goodbye.  Stalee's family pulled up in their van, ready to go.  We double checked everything and pulled out of there.

The drive was beautiful!  The sun was rising and we ate muffins and drank juice.  We were all so happy.  I was already thankful that Lance wasn't with us!

When Lake Powell finally came into view we all screamed.  It was super exciting!

We spent the day loading the houseboat, driving up the lake, finding a spot to park, and getting situated.  We ate Stalee's delicious teriyaki steak dinner, towed a stranded boat back to their houseboat, played in the water on the kayaks and the paddle board, and enjoyed a lovely evening.

It was so fun to tuck into bed on top of the houseboat.  We loved our first day!
