Sunday at Lake Powell.

We tried to make it special since it was Sunday.  We played church music, visited Rainbow Bridge, had a picnic in a shady canyon, and had a fireside before bed.

Last night in the middle of the night, things got a little crazy.  First, the sound of waves woke us up.  They were loud and crashing in on us.  But the crazy thing was that is wasn't even breezy.  So we were totally confused by the waves.  At the same time, the moon came up.  It was the brightest, strangest thing I ever saw.  I peeked my eyes open, thinking someone was shining a spotlight on us.  I nudged Greg awake, and loudly whispered, "WHAT IS THAT!?!?"  I was pointing at the moon, but it was so bright, I seriously didn't even know it.  We all were so shocked by its brightness.  Just before the moon came up, however, I opened my eyes for a second a gasped at the display of stars.  It was breathtaking!  This was the only night with such a vivid night sky.  We had clouds and storms most of the other nights.  I'm so thankful I got to see it.

Well, along with the moon came these massive waves.  We all speculated with our own "moon" theories.  It was pretty funny.  In my mind, I named them the "Holy Rollers".  And they just kept coming for hours.  It freaked us out pretty good and made for a sleepless night.  The ski boat was rocking and holding on for dear life.  It was super unsettling.  But then the morning came.

When morning comes...
We woke up to a beautiful, and I mean BEAUTIFUL, morning on Lake Powell.  All the ropes had held throughout the night and we were ready to enjoy the day.  And it was a great day!
