Today was one big holiday party! I had to hustle because it was Greg's office party at noon. We ordered food from Texas Roadhouse, and Greg and I went to pick it all up. Then it was back to his office to set it up and get everything situated for the party. They had closed the clinic early for the party. I had Lance with me, and everyone thought he was cute. He was shy, but smiley, so he was no trouble at all.
We had ribs and chicken and coleslaw and their famous rolls with cinnamon butter. Cherise Smith made the most delicious raspberry bread pudding dessert. I LOVED it. I've definitely been loving my food lately. I can almost hear my running shoes calling out for me with a hoarse voice from the closet. I have ignored them for so long. And I've been merrily eating my way through the holiday season. Oh, what fun!
After the party and all the cleanup, I dished up lots of leftovers for the other doctors to take home for their families. We had quite a bit of extra food. Then Greg and I took Austin over to his basketball practice.
At home, I worked around the house, did some Relief Society work, and got ready for our neighborhood adult Christmas party. "Adult" is the proper word. Ha ha. Things got pretty crazy in the white elephant gift exchange. Greg and I decided to absolutely play it safe. We never even touched the wrapped gifts when it was our turn, we simply "stole" already-opened gifts from other people. I'll admit, it was a hilarious night. There was even a live mouse! I'm SO glad I didn't open that box. In the end, Greg and I left with an awesome framed picture taken by our friend, a professional photographer, and a gift card to Einstein Bagels. We totally lucked out!
It was so fun to mingle with our neighbors. And I loved getting to know some of the newer couples. Greg told me later that when we walked in the door, he heard some of the guys joke, "It's all fun and games until the Relief Society President walks in!" Ha ha, very funny!!
