Monday.
Today was a bustling, busy day!
Cleaning
Christmas shopping
A stop at Yogurtland with my little boys (after they begged and begged)
A stop at the pet store (just to look at the snakes, fish, and lizards)
A massive grocery shopping trip
Driving kids to and from sports practice
Lasagna for dinner
Family Home Evening around the dinner table
Doughnuts from Mom
A beautiful photo book from Mom, filled with pictures from our Park City trip this summer
I thought the book would make me really sad about my dad. But instead, we just smiled and laughed and enjoyed each memory. The kids thought it was so fun. And there were enough doughnuts for us each to have two! Happy day!
I sat by the little boys' beds and read another little Christmas story from my 24 Days of Christmas Book. We teared up when we read about a family delivering Christmas to another family. As the story ended and I shut the book, we noticed that Owen had drifted off to sleep. And then Austin softly said, "Mom?"
"Yeah, bud?"
"Should we do that?"
He was talking about the story. And giving Christmas. I patted his back gently.
"I think that's a great idea," I said. Then I kissed his cheek and tucked his covers around him. As I came down the stairs, I started thinking about how we could do just that.
