February 7, 2017

I had a long list of errands just waiting to be accomplished.  I woke up Tuesday ready to tackle my list.  I hit the ground running and didn't stop until 11:00 at night when I finally got Lance to bed.  I was exhausted!  I don't think I'll ever try to run so many errands in one day again.

I went to the post office.
I went to the mall for new church suits for all of the boys.
I went to the music store for piano lesson books.
I went to Deseret Book--they didn't have what I needed.
I called the church cannery--they didn't have what I needed.
I went to a food storage store.
I went to the copy shop.
I went to Target.
I went to Harmon's for some prescriptions.
I went to Emma's school to pick her up.
I went to the orthodontist with Emma and Julia.
I went to the middle school to take Julia to basketball practice.
I went to Austin's piano lesson.
I went to the middle school to pick up Julia.
I went to Julia's piano lesson.
I went to the high school to take Julia to watch the high school basketball game.
I went to Dick's to buy Emma some track shoes and Austin some new shoes.
I went to the church for Young Women's.
I went home.
I nearly went crazy.

Even though I ran all around town trying to get ready for the Young Women's activity, it turned out so fun and cute.  We made Temple Time Capsules and talked about temple marriage.  I shared my testimony with the girls, and I hope with all of my heart that the message sunk in.  They all seemed so attentive and eager.  I'm loving these young women so much.  I brought my wedding dress and borrowed another one almost identical to mine from Maren, the Young Women President.  We let the girls try on the dresses and veils and then I took a picture with Julia's polaroid camera and we stuck a picture in their time capsules.  Judi sent me all of her files from the time she did this activity, and it was a life saver.  I think all of the girls had a great time.  They were so giddy with excitement throughout the whole activity! It was such a joy to put my dress on Emma.  She looked so cute, but she couldn't get over how puffy the shoulders were on my dress.  On one of the worksheets for the time capsule, it asked the girls to describe what they want their wedding dress to look like.  Emma wrote, "white, and NO puffy sleeves."  Oh, how funny!  I also like how when it asked about bridesmaids, Emma wrote, "Julia, and my best friends."  So sweet.  I hope the real wedding day is a long way off!!  But for now, it was fun to see Emma dressed up.

That night, I fell into bed with the beginning of a headache.  It had been a CRAZY day.  But I'm so thankful for the chance to serve in the Young Women's.
