Halloween 2017!

Another beautiful day in St. George.  I'm in love with the weather! It's been such a calm, happy day.  Which is so unusual for Halloween!  Usually it is pure chaos getting us all ready to go out the door on Halloween night!

Getting ready for school.  Just a normal day.. ha, ha!!
I hurried, though, to make it to the Elementary school for the Halloween parade.  Lance LOVED all the costumes and it was so fun to see Owen and Austin pass us.  We had a great time.
"Who's ready for some magic?"
Mommy and Lance at the parade!
Then it was in the school for Austin's Halloween party.  I was in charge of the Bingo station. We put all the cards in Owen's hat, and I let him draw them out for the game.  He was so good at running Bingo.  Owen is amazing.  He is so smart and so on top of things.  He is five years old, and he was completely capable of running a third-grade party station.  It was hilarious.  At one point, Lance was crying and I had to step away from the table.  Another mom asked if she could help, but when we looked, Owen had it under control.  😂

Here's Owen running the show!
Later, we went to Owen's class party and ran the Bingo game again.  This time Owen was a player.  And Lance was so talkative and loud and demanding.  He sat at the table like he was playing, but he was yelling about what card he wanted me to draw or what prize he wanted to pick.  Sometimes he was just yelling, BINGO!  It was a crazy time.
At the Kindergarten party with the loud-mouth Lance!
I came home and tried to quickly clean up and start get put together.
Greg got home pretty early.  We ate mushroom steak and rice for dinner.  I learned to make this from my mom.  It always takes me back to my childhood.  Everyone ate and helped clean up.  It was leisurely and fun.  Most of the kids got themselves ready to go out the door.  Greg and Emma set up shop on the front step where they could hand out candy and work on her homework .  She was supposed to design a t-shirt for her graphics design class.  We all brainstormed and then, Emma and Greg worked together on Photoshop to pull it off.

Our annual picture.  Everyone's growing up!!
I love this family of mine.
The rest of went Trick-or-Treating.  Miles met up with some friends and had a fun night.  Julia went around with her friends--all matching "Where's Waldo" characters.  So, Austin, Owen, Lance and I made our way around the neighborhood together.  Lance was super cute.  He would say, "Trick or treat," and "Happy Halloween!"  It was adorable.  We had a really fun night.

I came home from trick-or-treating to see these two with their heads together working on homework. It warmed my heart.  Greg is such a great dad!
