Today, I have been running around like a crazy person trying to get everything ready for our house full of guests. I did that thing where you have a long list of tasks to accomplish, but as the time passes and you realize you are running out of time, you start to prioritize what you will and will not do. I just kept working all day, changing sheets, cleaning, and preparing. And by the time everyone arrived, I had gotten almost everything done, including cleaning and sweeping the back patio, and washing the main windows and glass doors.
When Garr and Lill came in the house, they both wrapped me in the biggest, longest hugs. They had just read the tribute I wrote to them a couple of days ago. I decided to share it on Facebook, and I have had so many nice compliments and comments because of it. The truth is, I enjoy writing so much that it was an absolute pleasure for me to write it.
We have all had such a fun afternoon and evening together. Greg and Lill went to Costco and picked up some pizzas for dinner and some fruit for our lunch tomorrow. We fed all the kids and then loaded into the cars to go to Julia's border league game at Desert Hills Middle School. Julia played an eighth grade team, and Greg is the coach.
It was such an exciting, nail-biter of a game. Julia played out of her head. She is such a fantastic player! She flies through the air to steal the ball and goes coast to coast. She rebounds and scores and make a million free throws. She is such a beauty out there, working her little tail off to help her team. By the heart-stopping finish, Julia and Greg had won 43-41. And Julia had 27 points! I got so many compliments from people in the crowd. One dad come up to me and said, "Your daughter is freakin' amazing!" And another dad, from the other team, said, "Your daughter is single-handedly beating us. We can't stop her." It was really fun to enjoy such a fun moment. I love Julia, and Greg is an amazing coach. We all had a great time cheering for them.
Greg and I stayed up late talking to his parents. I'm so nervous and excited for our big baptism day tomorrow. It's been a great day.
